Golden Goose has appointed Chanel’s former chief executive Maureen Chiquet as non-executive chairwoman, replacing Patrizio Di Marco. The announcement was made as the British private equity group Permira completed its previously announced acquisition of a majority stake in the Italian producer of upscale sneakers from its U.S. peer Carlyle, which is retaining a minority holding.

Chiquet served as global CEO of Chanel from 2007 to 2016, and from July 2003 to December 2006 was chief operating officer and president of the U.S. operations of the French fashion house. She began her career in marketing at the French cosmetics company L’Oréal in 1985, before joining Gap and then moving to Chanel.
