Klaus Magele, chief executive of Salamander Austria, will be leaving the company after 25 years. Salamander Austria, which is owned by the Ara Group, manages the Salamnder stores in Austria as well as Hungary, the Czech Republic, Poland and Slovakia. The Delka shoe retail chain is also part of Salamander Austria. Salamander, a German-based shoe producer and retailer that has been fully owned by the Ara Group since 2016, has about 250 shoe stores outside Germany, located in these countries as well as France and Russia. Magele will be replaced by Jochen Haag, who has been responsible for international operations for one year and, most recently, as joint managing director of Salamander Austria and Delka. He remains a member of Salamander’s executive board in Germany, responsible for international operations.
