Zalando anticipates a significant increase in sales and Ebit in the second quarter, driven by changing consumer behavior, in particular a strong increase in the preference for digital offerings, as well as the development of its platform, which includes the accelerated expansion of its partner program.
It adds that second-quarter results will be ”significantly” above market expectations. Currently, financial analysts expect gross merchandise volume to grow by 19 percent, revenue by 16 percent and adjusted Ebit of €104 million.
This week, Zalando opened a new outlet in Ulm with more than 1,600 square meters of shopping space. It is its 10th location in Germany and four more outlets are planned by the end of 2022.
The store in Ulm offers around 20,000 products from 500 different brands that were previously available on the Zalando Fashion Store. But the company is also offering in the outlets goods from past seasons, as well as items that show minor flaws or that have sold out in most sizes.
