French Connection is not renewing its shoe licensing deal with Lambert Howarth after their 4-year contract expires in December, but the two companies will continue to do business together. Lambert Howarth will continue to supply footwear to the 200-odd stores managed by French Connection in the UK. The British retailer has apparently not yet decided whether it wants to license its footwear to another company or to develop the line in-house. French Connection saw its sales fall by 2 percent to £241.3million for the fiscal year up to Jan. 31, leading to a 67.2 percent drop in pre-tax income to £4 million. Licensing income fell to £3.6 million, down from £4.7 million, mostly because of a drop in a toiletries license.
