From Nov. 7 to Feb. 23, the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris is presenting an exhibition on the history of shoes, in the West and elsewhere, from the Middle Ages to the present day. Called “Marche et démarche: Une histoire de la chausssure,” it is the third in a series of exhibitions examining the relationship between fashion and the human body. On display are more than 500 items: from shoes to paintings, photographs, artworks, films and advertisements.
