Görtz will concentrate on its retail business in the future and discontinue the wholesale operations under its Belmondo brand. Belmondo was founded in 1986 as a subsidiary of Görtz, taking care of the brand as well as footwear licensing agreements with Brax and Bellybutton. Görtz has about 160 stores in 90 cities. The wholesale business of Belmondo will be stopped by June 30 next year, affecting 20 employees. Görtz will keep Belmondo as a private label sold in its stores. It is currently unclear what will happen to the Brax and Bellybutton licenses.
