G-Lord Marketing & Service Verbund, the new alternative German buying group launched in 2005, expects to make its first profit this year as its central settlements, financially supported and handled by SABU, are set to increase to €42 million from €21 million in 2006. A further increase to €58 million is projected for next year. Founded in connection with the insolvency of Garant Schuh + Mode, G-Lord currently counts 285 shoe retail members, most of whom are young entrepreneurs. The management hopes to raise this number to 600-700 retailers in the medium term.
