Gabor Shoes has reported a 6.5 percent increase in group sales to €132.1 million, including a 26 percent jump in the sale of its licensed Camel Active line to €23 million. In terms of volume, footwear sales rose by 4.5 percent for the group to 3,835,000, with a 3.1 percent increase for the Gabor brand to 3,188,000 pairs and a 25.7 percent increase for Camel Active to 647,000 pairs. While the company’s total sales in Germany fell by 4.5 percent, those in foreign countries went up by 10.6 percent. On the other hand, Camel Active performed better in Germany than abroad, where sales of the line rose by only 6 percent in contrast with a 42 percent jump at home, driven by women’s footwear.
