GBMI, the company that controls Pony and holds the Diesel, Nautica and XOXO licenses, has decided to set up a European sales support office in Holland, to be run by an executive who has yet to be recruited. The European region was run out of the USA by Charles Dallain, a Canadian who has now been promoted as the company’s international sales director. He replaces John Bidegain, a French executive from the family that owned Babybotte who has worked in the footwear industry in the USA for many years. Sales outside the USA grew last year to represent 56 percent of GBMI’s total sales of $285 million, which are now expected to rise by another 35 percent this year.
