Genesco has appointed Mimi Eckel Vaughn as chief operating officer, effective May 1. In addition to her new role, she will continue as chief financial officer until a new chief financial officer is named. Vaughn is a 15-year veteran of the company, which she joined in 2003 as vice-president of strategy and business development. In February 2015, she assumed the role of chief financial officer. Prior to Genesco, she served as executive vice-president of business development and marketing and acting chief financial officer at Link2Gov Corporation in Nashville. She also previously worked at McKinsey & Co., Goldman Sachs, Wasserstein Perella & Co., and Drexel Burnham Lambert. Genesco operates more than 1,500 retail stores throughout the U.S., Canada, the U.K., the Republic of Ireland and Germany, principally under the names Journeys, Journeys Kidz, Shi by Journeys, Schuh, Schuh Kids, Little Burgundy and Johnston & Murphy. The company also sells wholesale footwear under its Johnston & Murphy brand, the Trask brand, the licensed Dockers brand and other brands.
