Global sales of Esprit shoes increased by 14 percent in the year ended June 30, to represent 5 percent of the group’s total turnover of HK$20.63 billion (€2.18b-$2.66b). No details were given about specific markets, but Europe is being characterized Europe as «successful» as a whole. Having ended its license agreement with Nine West in the USA, Esprit is figuring out whether to license the label out again, or to continue to sell its own products directly in the country, where it has limited its action so far to the opening of company-owned stores in the New York region. The decision is unlikely to be reached during the current financial year. The group’s total revenues grew by 26.1 percent in the past year, while net profits jumped by 66.6 percent to HK$3.34 billion (€352.1m-$430.0m).
