GMS, the German buying group that has expanded to the Netherlands, Belgium, Austria, Italy and France, increased the group's turnover by 25 percent to €239 million in 2014, as compared to the previous business year. The number of clients rose by 243 with 269 points of sale in 2014. The number of specialized shoe retailers affiliated with GMS increased by 4.5 percent as compared to the previous year. Due to the high number of new clients, GMS managed to increase revenues by €35 million last year. Sales outside Germany grew by 12 percent in 2014, as compared to the previous year. GMS started to work together with suppliers from the shoe industry such as Birkenstock and Bauerfeind as well as suppliers from the sporting goods industry including Mammut and Brooks. Sales of the GMS' sporting goods segment increased by 59 percent from €23.5 in 2013 to €37.3 million in 2014. In 2014, GMS entered the French and Italian markets.
