Gucci and the City of Florence announced on June 13 that ten tapestries dating back to the sixteenth century have now been refurbished using proceeds from the Gucci Museum and will be exhibited in the Sala dei Duecento in the Palazzo Vecchio, the town hall of Florence and a symbol of the city. The tapestries will be exhibited on a quarterly rotating basis in order to safeguard the quality of the restoration. The initiative underscores the close ties that for nearly 100 years have linked Gucci to Florence and its major institutions. Gucci, which is now part of Kering, formerly known as PPR, was founded by Guccio Gucci in Florence in 1921.
