Gucci is opening themed pop-up stores in various parts of the world, with an emphasis on big cities – Chengdu, São Paulo, Taipei, Mexico City, Dubai and Bangkok – that have relatively few brick-and-mortar points of sale. The “Gucci Pin” pop-ups will come in three waves, each with a separate theme. The first will revolve around gifts for the holidays at the end of the year; the second, scheduled for early 2020, around the Chinese New Year and the Year of the Rat; and the third around psychedelia.
