Hermès has unveiled its first-ever Chinese e-commerce site. The site offers ready-to-wear clothing for women and men, fragrances, shoes, jewelry, as well as its signature handbags except for its Kelly and Birkin models, which are not available. According to reports by Jing Daily, the overall design of the new Chinese e-commerce site is the same as Hermes' official sites in the U.S. and across Europe, whereas the availability of products is different. At least in this initial phase, the Chinese online store reportedly offers a more limited choice of items and styles. In addition to a version in Chinese, the new Chinese e-commerce site also features an English version. Hermès' presence in China dates back to 1997, when the French luxury brand opened its first Chinese flagship store in Beijing. The brand's retail network in China has since expanded to 25 flagship stores.
