Hermès International kept its operating margin (Ebit) stable at 25.5 percent of sales last year, and its net profit grew by 0.8 percent to €290.2 million. Consolidated sales grew by 8.6 percent to €1,764.6 million, and the growth was the same for continuing operations in constant currencies. The 4th quarter was not much worse, showing a 6.2 percent sales increase, but they were down in the first two months of this year because of lower wholesale revenues. In the past year, sales grew by 7 percent in Europe, by 15 percent in the Americas and by 22 percent in Asia except Japan, where they dropped by 3 percent. Among the various product categories, clothing and accessories went up by 10 percent.
