Hugo Boss has appointed a new chief operating officer, Andreas Stockert, responsible for purchasing, production and logistics. He was previously senior vice president of international logistics at Kühne + Nagel. Hugo Boss is budgeting a decline in turnover this year, after the 3 percent increase to €1,686 million recorded in 2008. Retail sales grew by 12 percent to €269 million as the company’s own store network was expanded to 330 doors – not including some 1,000 franchised stores and shop-in-shops. The operating profit declined by 14 percent to €190 million. Net income fell by 27 percent to €112 million due to a variety of extraordinary losses.
