Hugo Boss’ sales fell by 18 percent in Germany and by 30 percent in Eastern Europe during the first quarter of 2009, contributing to a 5 percent decline in consolidated revenues to €484 million for the period. On a currency-neutral basis, total sales were off by 7 percent. However, the operating profit (Ebit) went down by only about 3 percent to €92 million and the net profit remained virtually unchanged at €64 million, compared with €65 million in the same quarter a year ago.
