In July, Wolfgang Neussner will assume the management of Leder & Schuh, the Austrian parent company of the Humanic and Shoe4You retail chains. He will be replacing Werner Weber, who is set to leave the company in mid-2019. Neussner, who has had a seat on the company's advisory board since 2015, will be working with Thomas Werner, a member of the executive board. Leder & Schuh last reported that its sales went up by 3.6 percent to €374 million in 2017, in contrast with a sales decline of 3.6 percent for 2016, but the company has yet to publish any figures for 2018. According to Der Standard, the Austrian newspaper, CCC conducted intensive talks for the acquisition of Leder & Schuh, but the parties could not agree on the purchase price, and some of the Austrian shoe retailer's assets have been pledged to banks and to Alchemy, a London-based investment company that recently invested €24 million in Leder & Schuh.
