In the U.K. the GfK consumer confidence Index was positive every month of the year in 2015. Consumer confidence remained strong for all of 2015, with a monthly average at +3. In December the index rose one point to +2. It is the first time since the Consumer Confidence Barometer started in 1974 that the Index has remained positive for an entire calendar year. In 2002 there was a positive long run, but after 11 consecutive positive monthly totals that year ended with an Index score of -4.
