It was double negatives in February for Chinese shoe exports, which fell in both volume and value. The volume of the country’s exports fell by 26.3 percent, with a 21.8 percent decrease in value. For January and February, volumes dropped by 9.7 percent to 1.2 million pairs of footwear, while value went down by 2.4 percent to $4.1 billion. Leather shoes were the hardest hit, with the export volume falling in February by 33.9 percent and their value by 23.9 percent. In the first two months, the volume fell by 22.7 percent to 150 million pairs of leather shoes and their value fell by 22.7 percent to $1.4 billion.
