Italy’s Gruppo Fornari is planning to launch two new multi-brand retail concepts in China next year, one for footwear and the other one for lifestyle products. The company has received two awards for its expansion in China and for the originality of its Fornarina brand’s presence and movement on the internet. Fornari has been operating in China since 1986, when it set up a joint venture with Saunda Holding. It has its own factory in Shundee and nine offices throughout the country. The company also has 91 Fornari stores and 53 Fornarina stores in China, where it reached revenues of US$35 million last year. The number of Fornarina shops is set to reach a total of 150 in the next two years.
