Itochu Corporation, the Tokyo-based trading house, will sell Hunter's footwear, clothing and other products in Japan starting next year. To this end, the two companies have reached an agreement to establish a joint venture, Hunter Japan K.K. Hunter will work with a subsidiary of the Japanese conglomerate, Itochu Home Fashion Corporation, to distribute its footwear in the region, and with Itochu's fully-owned Coronet Coporation to distribute its apparel, bags and accessories. Hunter Boots, headquartered in Edinburgh, said the deal with Itochu Corporation reflects the potential growth for the brand in the Asian market and is in line with the company's progression as a global lifestyle brand. In the past year, Hunter has expanded its offering to include outerwear, knitwear and accessories, which debuted at the London Fashion Week. The joint venture with Itochu is effective immediately, in time for the launch of the spring/summer 2015 collections.
