Jean-Pierre Bidegain is expanding his footwear-related media group by launching a pan-European magazine next month. Called “Shoe’s Planet,” it will be sent out to about 10,000 retailers all over Europe who have more than 3-4 shoe shops. Published in English, it is intended to come out four times a year from 2007 onwards, reviewing new products, exhibitions and interesting retailing ideas all over the continent. The premier issue will come out at the GDS fair in Düsseldorf. Bidegain, an editor who comes from a French family that has a long history in leather and footwear, has been acquiring or launching a new publication every year. His most recent acquisitions were two glossy French magazines, Chausser and Hebdo Cuir. He has also launched a magazine in German, Leder & Hautemarkt.
