John Haugh, a former executive of Luxottica and Mars, will be the new president and chief executive of Iconix Brand Group, the company that owns many sports and fashion brands including Umbro, Starter, Ocean Pacific and Danskin. On April 1, he will take the place left vacant last August by the departure of Neil Cole, founder of the group. Peter Cuneo, who had served as interim CEP, will become executive chairman. Haugh's appointment follows a commitment by Iconix to restate its financial statements in response to a review by the U.S. Securities & Exchange Commission of the company's accounts. The investigation covered in particular Iconix' reporting of the revenues from several foreign joint ventures.
