Josef Seibel has sold its remaining holdings in the Leiser group of shoe stores to its general manager, Steffen Liebich, who has been running the previously insolvent company for the past three years, restructuring it with a focus on finance and personnel. Josef Seibel, which owns the eponymous brand and Romika and has the license for Gerry Weber shoes, will continue to cooperate closely with the Leiser group, which includes the Schuhhof chain of shoe stores. Seibel got involved with Leiser in 2010, taking a 49 percent stake in its parent company, the Bahner Group. It took over the balance of the shares in 2012. The number of stores has been reduced from 132 to around 100, with an annual turnover of around €135 million.
