Kavat will be expanding its shoe collection for adults and has started to work together with a new designer, Lovisa Carlsson. Carlsson has already worked for such well-known labels as Acne Studios, Vivienne Westwood and Kurt Geiger. Kavat seeks to shift its focus to fashion-conscious consumers who also value sustainability. Known primarily for collections of children's shoes, the Swedish brand has only a small collection of shoes for adults, with classics like Chelsea boots, sneakers and lace-up boots. Kavat's Eco Performance leather is made at the company's own production site in Bosnia and Herzegovina. In March 2018, despite tougher requirements, Kavat received its second EU Ecolabel for continued commitment to high quality and sustainable production. In 2008, the Swedish company was recognized with the European award for its first model to use eco-performance leather, a substrate free of 200 banned chemicals. The European Commission has been conferring the Ecolabel since 1992 on products and services demonstrating a positive environmental impact that consumers can easily identify.
