Kenneth Cole is planning to close all of its retail locations in the U.S. in the next six months, except for the two stores in New York City and Arlington, in the Washington, DC area. The brand, which currently operates 63 outlet stores, intends to focus its energies on its e-commerce and international business, and to rely on licensing deals, which allow the generation of revenues without the need for physical stores. Kenneth Cole currently offers six clothing and accessories lines and one shoe line. In June, the company signed a license deal with Global Brands to make apparel and handbags for its labels Kenneth Cole New York, Kenneth Cole Reaction, and Unlisted, a Kenneth Cole production in the U.S. The company has also partnered with LF Brands to enter the shoe market in some parts of Europe in autumn of this year.
