Kering, the parent company of Puma, Volcom and a raft of luxury goods brands, has appointed a new “chief client and digital officer,” Grégory Boutté, who has had an interesting career. After working in brand management at Procter & Gamble, Boutté joined a French online auction start-up that was acquired by eBay in 2001. He then ran eBay France and eBay Europe, excluding the U.K. and Germany, before moving to eBay in the U.S. in 2010. Three years later, Boutté joined Sidecar, the first short-distance, peer-to-peer ride-sharing platform, which was bought by General Motors in 2016. In 2015, Boutté went to Udemy, a start-up which provides 15 million students the opportunity to take online courses. The 45-year-old manager will be a member of the group's executive committee, reporting directly to its managing director, Jean-François Palus.
