Klaus Duttenhöfer, long-time managing partner of Peter Kaiser, passed away at the age of 86 on Jan. 4. Duttenhöfer shaped the Peter Kaiser brand over decades. From 1963 to 1994, he worked as chief executive officer for the company. Together with his colleague and companion, Walter Joneck, he set out to make Peter Kaiser an international brand. Duttenhöfer started working for Peter Kaiser in the accountancy department in 1948. At the age of 25, he was already responsible for the company's sales, purchasing and product development department. From 1970 to 1978, he was president of the shoe industry association of Rhineland-Palatinate and from 1972 to 1987 board member of the German shoe industry association. After leaving the company, he continued to participate on the advisory board of the company until 2009.
