LaCrosse Footwear turned around to a net profit of $2,630,000 last year from a $5,086,000 loss in 2002 as its gross margins improved by 4 percentage points to 30.8 percent thanks to better sourcing capabilities and the elimination of low-margin products. Revenues declined by 2 percent to $95.7 million, but its Danner brand scored a sales increase of 25.4 percent. For the 4th quarter, the American boot company reports a 35 percent in net income to $1,135,000 on 6 percent higher revenues of $27.3 million.
