Le Cuir à Paris, the leather fair organized by SIC Group which took place in Paris for the fourth time under the umbrella of Première Vision Pluriel, has reported that the number of registered visitors increased by 2 percent to 10,107 – 66 percent of whom came from abroad, led by the USA, Germany and the UK. According to the fair’s organizers, American, German and British buyers knew what materials they wanted to buy and were less concerned with price. The trends gallery, which presented colors and materials for Summer 2008, also proved popular with visitors. A collective group of Brazilian tanners showed for the first time during the winter edition of Le Cuir. Italian exhibitors still represented 52 percent of the companies showing in 177 stands. The number of participants was up by 9 percent from a year ago and the surface rented by them is up by 25 percent.
