Adidas is once again taking on California-based apparel manufacturer Fashion Nova, accusing it of infringing on the trade dress of its Stan Smith sneaker. According to a lawsuit, Fashion Nova intentionally sold counterfeits, which features a classic tennis shoe with a white leather upper and the Three Stripes mark. The lawsuit filed in Oregon District Court also alleges that Fashion Nova caused confusion by misleading consumers into believing the shoes were manufactured or licensed by Adidas. The German company seeks an injunction against Fashion Nova, triple damages, fees and attorney’s fees.
