The U.K.’s Department for International Trade (DIT) has scrapped the Tradeshow Access Programme (TAP) which had been running for over 30 years. It provided grant funding to small and medium businesses across different industries to cover expenses associated with exhibiting at foreign trade fairs.
British fashion and textile companies were eligible for up to six TAP grants in the company or brand’s lifetime. Businesses will continue to have access to financial support through the DIT’s Internationalisation Fund, which launched in October 2020.
”The decision to cancel TAP without having a viable alternative is catastrophic as we start to come out of the pandemic,” according to Adam Mansell, the CEO of the U.K. Fashion and Textile Association.
