Legero, the Austrian children’s shoe producer partly owned by Ara Shoes, has announced an expansion of its Legero and Superfit collections for Spring/Summer 2005 to replace some popular Elefanten model. Ara is another company that was reportedly interested in a possible takeover of Elefanten during the unsuccessful round of discussions that preceded Clarks’ drastic decision. Likewise, Mark Kohlenberg, who is resigning as president of Elefanten USA, has come up with his own line, called Umi and presented at the WSA show in Las Vegas last month.
