Leiser has appointed a head buyer for the first time. Jörg Schriever, who has been taking care of purchases of women’s shoes since last November, is now running the German shoe retail company’s team of 18 buyers. He has been with the company for 30 years and was previously in charge of children’s footwear. Furthermore Yvonne Musonius has been placed in charge of handbags, while Sandra Oldenhagen will take care of private labels, including a new higher-end line of Leiser shoes. The changes have been introduced by Arnold van Bebber, appointed one year ago as chief executive of the company, which trades under numerous banners. It reportedly raised its sales by 3 percent to €164 million last year and is targeting a further 3-4 percent increase for 2007.
