Liebeskind Berlin will be opening its new mono-brand stores in Paris and Vienna in September this year. The German brand already owns and manages three mono-brand stores in Germany, in Düsseldorf, on the German island Sylt and in Dortmund. These stores were opened in December 2010. The brand was developed by employees of an shoe retail chain, Scarpe, which owns five specialist shoe stores in Germany. Scarpe mainly sells shoes from Italian brands in its stores. The employees that founded Liebeskind Berlin started out designing handbags that matched the shoes sold in the Scarpe stores. The handbags were a real success in Germany, so Liebeskind Berlin decided to go into shoe production in 2010. The brand has a production partnership in Italy where all shoes are manufactured. The shoe collection of Liebeskind Berlin is positioned in the premium shoe segment and priced between €100 and €180. Sales agents will be pushing sales outside its domestic market. The brand presented its new shoe collection during this year's Premium trade show in Berlin.
