Lloyd has appointed a new export manager, Diethard Rudolph, who comes from the apparel sector. He will take over gradually from Rainer Lurs, who has been with Lloyd for 21 years and will take up a new job early next year. The German men's shoe specialist, which is partly owned by Ara Shoes, has also signed a licensing deal for socks with a German company, Nollberg. After a sales downturn in 2009, which was largely due to the economic crisis, Lloyd saw its sales increase by 21 percent in Germany and by 30 percent in other countries in the first half of this year. Fall/winter orders are up by 23.4 percent in Germany and by 38 percent abroad.
