Louis Vuitton is launching a project for the manufacture of custom-made shoes, taking advantage of new facilities installed at its 2-year-old, state-of-the-art shoe factory at Fiesso d'Artico near Venice. The service will start up at Vuitton's flagship store at 2 via Montanapoleone in Milan next September, after its renovation. It will subsequently be available at Vuitton stores in Shanghai and Sydney before being extended to other parts of the world. Typically, customers will be given the opportunity to choose different types of soles, colors, leather and other materials on about six styles of shoes. They may have to wait up to three months to be delivered, but the company will try to reduce the delay to two months.
