LVMH is asking for more than €100 million in damages from Morgan Stanley for what the luxury company claims was defamation by one of the bank’s analysts. Earlier this month an appeals court in Paris upheld a previous decision by a commercial court that research and comments by a financial analyst at Morgan Stanley caused moral and material damage to the luxury goods company. However, the same court overturned a separate ruling that the analyst was biased toward LVMH’s arch-rival, Gucci Group.
