Two new managers have been appointed at Birkenstock, and one has left the company. In order to develop its own retail operations, the company has named Denise Delboi, 32, to the new position of head of retail expansion. Delboi, who has worked for Desigual and Douglas, will report to Mark Schäfer, director of retail.

Also, after working for Birkenstock since 2007 in various roles in the areas of operations, purchasing and production, Sean Harris, 38,  has taken on the position of chief technical officer, replacing Manfred Eisele. Harris was most recently in charge of supply chain management for the group.

Eisele, who has steered a dramatic expansion of the company's production in Germany, also introducing the manufacture of EVA soles, will take care of the real estate investments of Christian Birkenstock.

Meanwhile, Randolf Friedel, area manager of Birkenstock for the German-speaking countries, is leaving the company by mutual consent to pursue new professional opportunities. His responsibilities will be assumed on a temporary basis by Michael Schmitz, who is in charge of the Middle East, Africa and new businesses.
