Manufacture de Maroquinerie du Dauphiné (MMD), a leathergoods manufacturing unit previously owned by Charles Jourdan, has been sold to Guccio Tolomei, who already runs a similar workshop that works for Chanel in the Paris region. He has agreed to keep the 236 workers of MMD, which was profitable in 2004 on sales of €15.5 million, working for Louis Vuitton and other components of the LVMH group. Avendis, which recently acquired Jourdan, decided not to take over MMD as well.
