Mariella Burani Fashion Group and its leathergoods unit Antichi Pellettieri, which are both listed on the Milan stock exchange, have decided to examine the possibility of merging. The boards are expected to approve the deal by the end of March, when the companies will also release their full-year results. In the meantime, the shoemaker Baldinini, which is owned by Antichi Pellettieri, was reported to have closed 2008 with a 39 percent increase in revenues to €94 million.
