Mariella Burani Fashion Group, owner of the Baldinini brand and other properties in the shoe and leathergoods sector, reported a drop in 2007 earnings due to non-recurrent items. While the group’s sales rose to €701.3 million from €672.3 million, operating profit before depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) fell to €108.3 million from €125.1 million. Earnings before interest and tax (EBIT) slipped to €78.3 million from €92.6 million, and net profits slumped to €46.0 million from €63.3 million. Excluding extraordinary items, EBITDA rose by 16.9 percent and EBIT grew 18.0 percent.
