Martin Keen, one of the co-founders of Keen Footwear, has left the company for strange reasons on which the management would not comment, but his departure is unlikely to affect the strong development of the new American brand (see previous issue). While Keen was originally placed in charge of design, the Spring/Summer 2005 collection successfully presented at the recent WSA show in Las Vegas was designed by others as a team. Besides, the company owns all the intellectual property rights to the line’s special toe design and none of its shareholders had a majority to begin with. Angel Martinez continues to run the company and he has hired a new sales manager, Jake Brandman. Richard Litzel, the company’s joint venture partner for Europe, has found agents in all the major European countries except France and Greece. The Scandinavian agent is Sportmarket. The UK agent is 4ft Ltd..
