Members of the Migliorati and Modali families have secured ownership of the Fly Flot brand name at an auction of the assets of the former parent company that they controlled, Lones. They have not taken over the debt of the bankrupt Italian company, but they have bought its machinery and rehired about 100 workers, or one-third of the former staff, to continue manufacturing its injected clogs in Italy. Some stitched models will continue to be manufactured in Romania and Moldova. Alice Migliorati, 28-year-old daughter of a former top manager, Carlo Migliorati, is acting as chief executive of the new company, which will rent the facilities of the former Lones for the next three years.
