Mintel estimates that online sales of clothing and footwear are expected to grow in the U.K. this year by 14.5 percent from last year's record level of £10 billion (€12.51bn-$16.28bn), representing 17 percent of total purchases of these items compared with 13 percent three years ago. Clothing and footwear are ordered only by 80 percent of customers between the ages of 25 and 34 and by 76 percent of those who are aged 16 to 24. While 73 percent of women click and shop, this is the case for only 65 percent of the men, but that is an increase on last year. Some 12 percent of consumers continue to use the internet only to browse through different websites.
