Modacalzado and its ancillary leathergoods show are boosting their hospitality programs for foreign buyers and journalists, with the help of Icex, the Spanish export promotion agency. Their efforts are directed especially at emerging markets such as Russia, Ukraine, the Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary, Slovakia, the United Arab Emirates, Israel and Lebanon. Meanwhile, Ifema is gearing up for the Modacalzado+Iberpiel footwear and leathergoods fair being held on March 11-13 at Feria de Madrid. It will welcome some new brands, including Hoss Intropia, Mephisto, Privata, Coronel Tapioca, Beatriz Furest, Arche, Garvalín and Thursday Friday. Ifema is expecting participation numbers to be similar to those of the last edition, held in September, when 550 Spanish and foreign brands were on display. This will be the 29th edition of the fair, where companies will exhibit their collections for fall/winter 2012-13. Once again Fice, the Spanish Footwear Industries Federation, will promote the IdeasLab area of the event, where traders can get diverse information and guidance on the industry.
