More than 650 brands have already signed up to present their shoe collections at MIDEC, the Paris shoe show, on Sept. 2-4, alongside the International Read-to-Wear Fair and other trade shows during the Parisian fashion week. Practically all the major children’s footwear brands will be there again, and this time they will include a collective Brazilian manufacturers’ exhibition. More than 70 casual footwear brands – including Birkenstock, Caterpillar, Clarks El Naturalista, Paraboot, Sebago or Tommy Hilfiger -have registered to show in the new “Capture” section, representing a record for the Parisian fair. About 20 young shoe designers will also have their own stand, and they will not only be French. A young Russian talent who will present a “mystical” shoe model and a couple of students will be sent over from foreign design schools.
