More than 91,000 visitors passed through the latest Bread & Butter Barcelona show July 4-6, representing growth of about 50 percent over the same show in 2006. Compared with the traditionally busier Winter instalment, the latest summer edition was up by 10 percent. One explanation for the growth is the fact that it was the only Bread & Butter show this month, following the cancellation of a session in Berlin. This is reflected by a 68 percent rise in the number of German guests to 8,784. The largest number of visitors came from the Iberian Peninsula at 34,190, followed by Italy at 14,560. Visitors from outside of Europe continued to grow, with 50 percent more Russians coming to the fair and «considerable growth» in the number of attendees from Japan.
